Dave Gilbert

“As I await direction from God as to his purpose for allowing me to survive cancer, I am grateful life is so wonderful.”

— Dave Gilbert, cancer survivor.

For Dave Gilbert, the two-year battle to overcome stage IV Non-Hodgkin’s Burkitt lymphoma has been a life-affirming event. He was just getting comfortable in his new role as Executive Director of Visit Corvallis, when an appointment with his physical therapist turned up this unexpected and virulent, fast-growing cancer. After six powerful chemotherapy sessions, Dave is now cancer-free, but still deals with the side effects of the regimen. He was one of the celebrating survivors in this year’s Puttin’ on the Pink Style Show, which helps fund Project H.E.R.
